O Canada!

It's always a bit of a debate as to what to do on Canada Day: brave the crowds or stay at home. This year we went with the Wyatts to Granville Island - early - which promised lots of entertainment and a decent parking spot. This is the view west towards English Bay.

May I say that the Granville Island Market is one of the wonders of the world, at least as far as cool food is concerned. Display case after display case featured such a wide assortment of one type of food (e.g. meats, desserts) that Andrew and I couldn't stop staring.

We simply had to try one of the eclairs - they were practically calling out to us... and were as delicious as they looked!

Dean, Elisa, and Chiara went on a ferry ride around False Creek. Chiara was so excited about going on the boat and loved it.

Then we all got fake Canada Flag tattoos. Mine didn't last too long but Dean's stayed for days!

There was a map where you could place a stone on the location that you come from. Mine is the reddish-brown one by Durban. Apparently quite a few South Africans had stopped by already. Cool!

To finish it all off, we listened to some pretty horrible Jazz music (I usually like Jazz too!), but it was nice to sit under the trees and relax a bit.

Happy birthday, Canada!
