Newsboys at the NW Washington Fair
The Newsboys are on of my favourite bands, and hail from a small town on Australia's Sunshine Coast called "Mooloolaba," which Kerry incidentally took Andrew and myself through back in May.
Lucky for me, the show was at the Northwest Washington Fair, which meant lots of farm animals! Up close! I arrived just in time for a sheep and goat dress-up competition (!), and this little darling was the winner in the "most beautiful" category.
And, of course, a pig picture. Because I LOVE pigs.
Due to an unfortunate event involving Tamara not being able to find her passport and thus not coming with me to the concert, I ended up befriending a lady who also had a spare ticket - in the THIRD row! So I had prime seats for the entire thing, without having to pay more.
And they take the stage. Lead singer Peter and his signature bald head.
The whole group onstage.
One of their songs is called "Breakfast," and part of the lyrics go, "When the toast is burned, and all the milk has turned, and Captain Crunch is waving fairwell...." I could not stop laughing when they sang these lyrics and I turned around to see at least 10 people across the audience waving Captain Crunch cereal boxes around.
